Minnesota Wild Signs Forward Connor Dewar to an Entry Level Contract

SAINT PAUL, Minn.- Minnesota Wild General Manager Paul Fenton today announced the National Hockey League (NHL) club has signed forwardConnor Dewarto a three-year, entry-level contract starting with the 2019-20 season.

  Dewar, 19 (6/26/99), has collected 75 points (34-41=75), a plus-25 rating, 12 power-play goals and eight game-winning goals in 52 games serving as captain of the Everett Silvertips in the Western Hockey League (WHL) this season. The 5-foot-11, 176-pound native of Gilbert Plains, Manitoba leads the team in scoring, assists and shots on goal (289), ranks T-1st in PPG and GWG and third in goals. He ranks fourth in the WHL in shots on goal, T-6th in GWG, T-11th in scoring, T-13th in PPG and 15th in goals. Dewar was named the WHL Player of the Week on Feb. 4 and played for Team WHL in the 2018 CIBC Canada Russia Series. He recorded 68 points (38-30=68) in 68 games with Everett last season serving as an alternate captain and was the recipient of the Silvertips Most Dedicated Player Award.

  Dewar owns 191 points (97-94=191) in 265 games with Everett and has collected 29 points (14-15=29) in 41 WHL playoff contests. He was selected by Minnesota in the third round (92nd overall) of the 2018 NHL Entry Draft.
