Brooks Koepka Commits to 3M Open

The 3M Open added another top-ranked player to the field today when Brooks Koepka committed to play in the new PGA TOUR event at the at the TPC Twin Cities July 1-7, 2019.

Koepka, ranked No.3 in the world, becomes the fifth player, currently among the top 20, making early plans to compete here. Earlier, the 3M Open received commitments from World No. 6 Bryson DeChambeau, No. 12 Jason Day, No. 16 Patrick Reed, the reigning Masters Tournament winner, and No. 21 Phil Mickelson, a five-time major championship winner.

Last year, Koepka won the U.S. Open and PGA Championship and was named the PGA TOUR Player of the Year. Those two major championship titles are in addition to his 2017 U.S. Open win and a 2015 Waste Management Phoenix Open victory.

Collectively, this group has accumulated 71 career victories on the PGA TOUR—30 of those earned in the past five and a half seasons.

“I am excited to be a part of the new 3M Open and experience the great golf fans of the region once again,” said Koepka. “I have heard good things about the golf course and I am also looking forward to seeing Zac Brown in concert.”

The 156 players competing in the 3M Open have until 5:00 p.m. Eastern time on Friday, June 28 to officially commit to the tournament and can withdraw at any time.
