Vikings sign two more free agents from now defunct AAF

Martin (6-2, 212)joins Minnesota after beginning the year with the San Diego Fleet of the Alliance of American Football league. He totaled 17 tackles (16 solo), four passes defensed and one interception during eight contests in the AAF. As an undrafted rookie free agent, Martin attended the New York Jets rookie mini camp in May 2018. The Forestville, Maryland, native played three seasons at Toledo, starting 14 games at cornerback and leaving the Rockets with 74 tackles. As a graduate transfer joining Syracuse for his final campaign in 2017, Martin started five games at free safety with the Orange. Before being sidelined due to a wrist injury, Martin recorded 25 tackles, three pass break ups and a forced fumble during his lone season and was invited to the 2018 East-West Shrine Game. During his four collegiate seasons, Martin totaled 99 tackles and 14 pass break ups in 42 career games.

Martini (6-4, 235)joins Minnesota after beginning the year with the Salt Lake Stallions of the AAF. The Orange, Virginia, native originally signed with Green Bay in 2018 as a rookie free agent. Martini spent part of last season on the Packers practice squad and played in four preseason games, recording 13 tackles and one pass defensed. While in the AAF, Martini tied for fifth in the league with 55 tackles for the Stallions. He also had a sack and an interception in eight games before the league was suspended. Martini played collegiately at Notre Dame, where he totaled 191 tackles (104 solo), 5.0 sacks, one interception, and two forced fumbles in 50 total games. Martini joins DE Karter Schultas former Salt Lake Stallions on the Vikings roster.

The Vikings have now signed five former AAF players.
