Vikings trade 7th-round pick for DT PJ Hall | KFAN 100.3 FM

The Minnesota Vikings have traded a conditional 7th-round pick to the Las Vegas Raiders for defensive tackle PJ Hall.

According to Adam Schefter the 7th-round pick will only be traded if Hall is on the 53-man roster for six games.

Hall has played two seasons for the Raiders since being selected in the second round of the 2018 draft. In those two seasons, Hall has totaled 48 tackles, 1.5 sacks and eight tackles for loss.

This trade doesn’t come as a surprise, as the biggest free agent signing of the 2020 offseason has opted out due to respiratory issues. Michael Pierce will still be on the Vikings for the next three seasons, he will just not play in 2020.

With Pierce opting out, Linval Joseph signing with the Los Angeles Chargers and Everson Griffen’s future still up in the air, the Vikings needed to find some depth along their defensive line.

Hall comes to Minnesota after a mediocre two seasons with the Raiders. It’s possible that Andre Patterson can change the trajectory of his career path, as he is only 25 years old and had the talent to be taken in the second round.

Although Hall hasn’t been great since entering the leagueit was a low risk high reward type of trade for the Vikings. With the amount of younger players along the defensive line and the shortened offseason, the Vikings will have to find a way to figure out who will replace Pierce inweek 1 against Green Bay.
