Mike Zimmer says Sunday was "the best" offensive performance by his teams

Sunday afternoon in Minnesota saw the Minnesota Vikings topple the Seattle Seahawks by a score of 30-17 to get their first win of the 2021 NFL season.

On their way getting there, Mike Zimmer said "it’s the best offensive performance that I’ve seen in the eight years that I’ve been here."

For the game, quarterback Kirk Cousins completed 30 passes for 323 yards and 3 touchdowns, Alexander Mattison carried the ball 26 times for 112 yards and Justin Jefferson reeled in 9 catches for 118 yards and one touchdown. That's not to mention Conklin's line of 7 for 70 and 1 TD, Thielen's 5 for 50 and 1 TD and Alexander Mattison's 5 for 59.

The comment is a giant compliment from a head coach that has been quick to criticize offensive game plans and coordinators in the past. In fact, in eight years as coach Zimmer has flown through six different offensive coordinators. But maybe Klint Kubiak is the one that sticks.

"Kirk played outstanding," Zimmer said of his quarterback on Sunday. "[He] saw the blitzes....made some great throws over the middle. Kirk has really been working on being a better general and has done a great job of that."

"He's a hard running back," the coach shared about Alexander Mattison. "The Offensive line did a great job today. It all goes together, the WR's, TE's, RB's and CJ."

It was just a good day all around for the Vikings offense and it showed in the final score.
