Rob Parker and Kelvin Washington react to Sacramento Kings star De’Aaron Fox wanting to team up with Victor Wembanyama instead of joining LeBron James and Anthony Davis in Los Angeles.
Rob Parker:
"Instead, right, to go say, wow, not only LeBron, but I’ll be paired with Anthony Davis for the next five or six years. We’ll have a chance, Anthony Davis ain’t going nowhere... he’s young. And he still doesn’t wanna come and play on the big stage that is Los Angeles and what’s going on here? He’d rather go and play with Wemby. I get maybe long term or something, but to here and now, you don’t wanna play with LeBron. You would rather go to San Antonio. Despite having this generational talent, they’re still not great. And it’s only his second year. I’m not saying he can’t get there, but I’m saying, how in the world do you not wanna play with LeBron and instead play with everyone knows it’s Wemby. I don’t understand it."
Kelvin Washington:
"I don’t even have to go all in on this. Everyone knows this. Wemby! That’s the easy answer. He’s a freak of nature. He’s literally, if you were making a weird science basketball game like the movie Weird Science in the 80s, you were drawing up. Yo, he’s gonna be like seven-six with a wingspan of like 10-9... that’s what Wemby is. So you’re right. LeBron is literally 40... De’Aaron Fox, who is basically 25, 5, and 5 the last five years, is looking at it and saying, I’m only 27. He just turned 27... Why not go team up with a 20-year-old Wemby, who is averaging 25 himself, and go get down."
