Jason Smith: Cooper Flagg to the Bulls, 76ers, or Mavericks

Jason Smith and Monse Balanos discuss where they think Cooper Flagg will go before the NBA Draft Lottery next week. If it's San Antonio, owners may protest as Wemby and Flagg would be unfair. Jason and Monse discuss the possibility of Philadelphia for Flagg as well.

Jason Smith:

"If anyone but the Sixers, Mavericks, or the Bulls get the first pick in the draft, I will be the most surprised guy in the world. Cooper Flagg is going to start his career in either Philadelphia, Dallas, or Chicago. I'm not saying there's you know, hey, here's a cold envelope. Here are some bigger ping pong balls than the others. I'm just saying, you have a guy coming into the league that could have a Caitlin Clark-like effect on the WNBA, wheres here's the next big star coming in that could really put a former heritage team, popular team on the map right away."

Monse Balanos:

"In all honesty he does need to go to a team like that. I'm sorry, he can't go to the Hornets, like you can't go to the Wizards...Chicago in theory I like but they would not be successful. If we're believing the NBA is gonna maybe manipulate a little bit of the draft to put Cooper Flagg in a situation where the league benefits. He has to go to a team that can be successful immediately. I also thought of Utah, but Utah is not a place I think he would end up. San Antonio to me keeps coming up as a possible place. I don't want it to be Philly just because I have a bad taste in my mouth because of Paul George, but Philly would be better for him."

Jason Smith:

"Yeah no if they didn't have Wemby I would say okay, you know what the owners would do if the Spurs won it again? No way. Teams only win two things. The NBA Championship and the NBA Draft Lottery. That's it. I'm telling you though, Chicago is the favorite. Philadelphia, and Dallas. And I want to see Nico Harrison at the lottery middle-fingering it to everyone. YEAH."
