NCAA conference tournaments are getting underway and college basketball players around the country are shining their dancing shoes in hopes of going dancing in the NCAA Men’s D1 Basketball tournament. Doug reminds us what makes college hoops so special and separates it from professional sports; college arenas. Many smaller conferences don’t have the resources to play their tournaments in neutral locations and it actually makes their tournaments more more exciting. Doug thinks the Big Dance would benefit from some of that home court electricity that only college arenas can provide.
Doug Gottlieb: “The home court atmosphere is as much a part of college basketball as the actual basketball is! And yet we get to the end of the season and let’s cut out the part of the sport that makes it so cool and so unique.”
