Co-host of “Inside the NBA on TNT,” Charles Barkley joins Dan Patrick to talk about the future of his longtime partnership with Shaq, Kenny and Ernie now that they’ve broadcasted their final show on TNT. He shares some details from his new contract and talks about Michael Jordan’s upcoming role in NBA coverage. And he weighs in on the NBA Finals matchup between the Thunder and Pacers.
Dan Patrick: “Are you unemployed right now?”
Charles Barkley: “No, I signed a deal last week Dan.”
Dan: “OK. When do you start working with ESPN?”
Charles: “Next year, when the season starts…I said I’d work for two more years and that’s what I agreed to and I’m going to have to trust them…Listen, I actually have seven years left on my contract. I’m like, ‘Yeah, there’s no way I’m working seven years.’ I said, ‘You know, I’m going to be a good soldier for Kenny, Ernie and Shaq, and the people I work with,’ ‘cause I love the people I work with, especially behind the scenes; I said, ‘But the best I can do is two years.’”
