After the NFC Championship, Philadelphia QB Jalen Hurts said, “He let me out of my straightjacket today,” in reference to HC Nick Sirianni’s game, and the comment has garnered attention as fans wonder if there is some conflict in the Eagles locker room. Dan thinks it was simply a case of Hurts frustration over playing in the shadow of Saquon Barkley and their vaunted defense, and his relief at finally getting some credit.
Dan Patrick: “Saquon (Barkley) took all of the oxygen here, and it’s all about him and it’s not about Jalen Hurts. It’s all about the defense. It’s all about everybody but him. You know, the coach is getting credit and then we, you know, yours truly, ‘Hey, let me see him pay big in a big game.’ Well, he played big in a big game and I think he’s tired of hearing that criticism, and that’s why it’s like yeah, he finally took the straightjacket off.”
