Colin Cowherd Gives His Three Best College Football Bets For Week 1 (8/31)

Tostitos BCS National Championship Game - Head Coaches Press Conference

Watch Colin Cowherd debut his new weekly college football segment that will run at the end of his show every Thursday called the ‘MARQUEE THREE’ where Colin gives his best three college football bets for the upcoming week.

For the opening week of college football Colin is focusing on Oregon at Auburn, Northwestern at Stanford, and Fresno State at USC. (Check out the full segment at the bottom of the page)

(11) Oregon vs. (16) Auburn – Game played in Dallas (Spread: AUB -3.5)

“Oregon has a significant advantage at quarterback but I don’t trust them. When you get them out of Autzen Stadium the last two years, they are AWFUL, they’re 4-8. They’re also 0-4 the last four games against non-conference opponents. When SEC teams play Pac-12 teams away from Pac-12 stadiums you know where I’m going to lean. I’m taking Auburn to win 27-23 and to COVER.”

Northwestern at (25) Stanford (Spread: STAN -6.5)

“I like Northwestern in the upset and if nothing else I like them covering the spread. They were very good last year and won 8 out of their last 10 games. They went 5-0 on the road last year. Nobody has seen their quarterback Hunter Johnson play yet. He went to Clemson as a five-star recruit and only transferred because they have Trevor Lawrence. He might be the most talented quarterback in the history of their program. I’m going Northwestern 24, Stanford 23, I love the upset here.”

Fresno State at USC (Spread: USC -13.5)

“USC has won 17 of their last 18 home openers and taking way Notre Dame, haven’t lost to a non-power conference team since 2011. Fresno State is rebuilding their interior offensive line and USC’s strength of their defense are the defensive tackles. This is a matchup issue and Fresno is too young. USC is only going to be around .500 all year but I’m picking them to win and cover here, 36-20 at home.”
