Utah Jazz head coach Will Hardy was reportedly the "big deal" sports star that reality show star Kristin Cavallari previously said she went on a date with during an episode of her Let's Be Honest podcast last month.

Hardy, 37, reportedly went to Nashville to "see" Cavallari, 38, "many months ago," a source with knowledge of the situation confirmed to Us Weekly.

“It was one date and that was it,” the insider said. “She never saw him again.”

Cavallari claimed that she was set up with a mystery sports star during an episode of her Let's Be Honest podcast released in October.

“I literally said to the universe, ‘I’m ready to go on a date,’” she said. “The next day, I got a phone call from my agent who set me up with a coach, which is also funny because [Millionaire Matchmaker star] Patti Stanger came on my podcast and said, ‘You should go out with coaches,’” she added.

Cavallari didn't reveal the coach's identity beyond claiming that she'd heard he was "a big deal."

“He is represented by CAA. So am I. Our two agents made it happen,” Cavallari said.

“He flew to Nashville, took me to dinner, such a great guy,” she added, acknowledging that something "just wasn't right" about their date.

“I know after the first date if I’m going to like someone or not. I was trying to make it work, and I kept talking to him, and I was going to see him again and everything in me was telling me not to,” Cavallari said.

“When I’m out of alignment for what is meant for me, everything in my body screams at me. He is such a good guy. I enjoyed talking to him. … It just wasn’t right,” she added.

Cavallari was previously married to former NFL quarterback Jay Cutler, whom she shares the children with, from 2013 to 2022. Hardy married Spencer Ladd Hardy, the mother of his two daughters, in 2015, however, a source told Page Six that they've been "divorced for over a year."

Hardy was hired by the Jazz in 2022 and has gone 90-170 during his tenure, which includes a 5-9 start to the 2025-26 NBA season.
